Original Club Patch
(designed by Frank Weddle of Milan, Tennessee)

The Unknown Riders Motorcycle Club had a humble beginning. It started in the spring of 1982, when a few guys from Milan, Tennessee attended the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Kentucky. While at the Derby, the friends attended a motorcycle event hosted by the Screaming Eagle Motorcycle Club. The brotherhood and the fun witnessed by the friends from Milan had them eager to return home and start a motorcyle club of their own. After returning to Milan the friends enlisted the help of the Sunset Riders, a local motorcylce club from Brownsville, Tennessee, to assist in organizing their new club. Among those assisting in the organizing effort was Clarence Lewis, the owner of the Blue Goose Cafe. It was at this cafe that the friends held their meetings. At one of those meetings one of the friends, Terry Clark, suggested the name Unknown Riders and thus the Unknown Riders Motorcycle Club was formed.

Original Officers were:
President - Michael Clark
Vice President - Joe Williamson
Secretary & Treasurer - Richard Rice

Original Members - Terry Clark, Stanley Joyner, Tommy White, Charles Pettigrew, Sam Bills, James Glenn, Corie Taylor, Dee Sowell, Thomas Wolffork, Charles Wolffork, & Henry Adkisson

Twenty-eight years later the Unknown Riders Motorcycle Club is still an active and vibrant entity in our community. The Milan Chapter has a membership body of 18. We have a second chapter of the Unknown Riders established in Decatur, Illinois. Our Motto is.....

"Together We Stand, Divided We Fall"

Ride On Fellow Riders !
